R.L. "Moose" Gray

Moose started playing slow pitch softball while in high school back in 1959. He continued to play the sport and was one of the founders of the Greenleaf Restaurant 'Losers' Softball Team in 1962.

Moose also founded the City Softball League along with sporting goods store owner Chuck Riggio in 1963. He continued to manage the 'Losers' Softball Team from 1962-1970. In the 1970s, Moose became the Genesee County ASA Director under Fred Blum. Moose was also a member of the Sport's Committee at Attica Prison from 1974-78.

Moose became a USSSA area director in 1982 and held the position until 1985, when he became the USSSA New York State President from 1985-87. Moose additionaly held the title of USSSA NYS District 5 Director from 1985-95.

Moose wrote the Batavia Daily News 'Slo-Pitchin by Moose' Column in the 1980s. Moose was tournament director for local and state events from 1983-95.as well as assisting Al Ciaccia with Divisional Tournaments from 1987-1993. Moose is currently the USSSA National Convention Coordinator, a position that he has held since 1988.
